I use this simple sweetener for granola, power bars, dressings, smoothies, etc. You can make a batch and store in a mason jar in the refrigerator for a few weeks.
1 c pitted dates
1 c boiling water
1 t freshly squeezed lemon juice
Place dates in heat proof bowl, pour boiling water over them and let sit for an hour. Pour into blender, add lemon juice, and blend until smooth.
