Votiva Vaginal Rejuvenation & Pelvic Floor Therapy
Votiva is a technology by InMode that provides solutions for many feminine vaginal health concerns. This technology is safe, effective, and non-invasive for purposes including tightening the vaginal canal, enhancing vaginal tone, strength, and control, increasing sensation during intercourse, reducing stress urinary incontinence, reducing vaginal dryness, reducing pain caused by labial hypertrophy, or improving the appearance of labia and vulvovaginal area.

At Family First we combine this technology with pelvic floor physical therapy to optimize results. Each treatment regimen consists of 3 sessions combining physical therapy with a pelvic floor specialist as well as Votiva vaginal treatment.

What is Votiva?

How do I know if I am a good candidate for Votiva?
Symptoms of urinary incontinence, loss of vaginal tone, vaginal dryness, and pain with intercourse are all common concerns that can be addressed with Votiva. Women of every age can benefit from treatment with Votiva. After childbirth, many women experience a change in vaginal tone which can lead to stress incontinence and decreased sensation during intercourse. Vaginal childbirth can also cause an enlarged vaginal opening and alteration in the shape and size of the labia. Similarly, with menopause there are changes that may occur in the vaginal tissue; vaginal dryness is a primary concern for many peri-menopausal and post-menopausal women.
Votiva is extremely versatile in treating a variety of conditions and is valuable for women in every stage of life. Dr. Federici will meet with you prior to treatment to review your medical history, discuss your specific concerns, and create a personalized treatment plan for you.
Can I really achieve a change in the appearance of my vulvovaginal area and labia without surgery?
Yes! We understand that most women experience changes in the appearance of the vulvovaginal area with childbirth, weight fluctuations, and menopause. For many women, these changes can be distressing and can affect their sexual and personal relationships. Votiva is a non-surgical option to address these changes. Votiva uses a radiofrequency handpiece to target the unique tissue in and around the vaginal area. Similar technology has been used on the body and face for many years and had great success with tightening and toning skin in these areas. Votiva uses radiofrequency to stimulate new collagen and elastin. Common concerns like wrinkling, and stretched out tissue can be addressed safely and effectively with Votiva.
What is radiofrequency? How can it help improve my vaginal area?
Radiofrequency (RF) fuels the remodeling and building of new healthy tissue. Fibroblasts are fundamental to skin regeneration and are directly stimulated by RF, fibroblasts produce collagen which we known improves the appearance and texture of the skin.

The FormaV handpiece delivers the unique type of RF that is utilized by the Votiva system. FormaV delivers gentle thermal remodeling of the special tissue in and around the vaginal area. Tightening of the vaginal vault, increased lubrication, and improvement of labial laxity are all direct benefits of Votiva’s RF.
I have issues with leaking urine while jumping, sneezing, and/or coughing. What effect can Votiva have on this embarrassing condition?
Stress urinary incontinence is incredibly common. The vaginal tone is affected by childbirth and by aging, and this change in tone can alter the function of the bladder. Votiva works to stimulate the vaginal tissue to improve the internal support of the bladder. It is an adjunct to Kegel (pelvic floor) exercises that target muscles, while Votiva targets the vaginal tissue itself. Many women see improvement in their incontinence in just 1-2 Votiva sessions with optimal improvement after 3 sessions.
How can non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation improve my sexual experience and overall health?
When you feel confident about yourself it affects every aspect of your health, including sexual health. Intercourse can be painful when the vaginal tissue is dry. Labia that are stretched and lax can also contribute to pain or discomfort during intercourse. With three simple non-surgical treatments you can see a dramatic improvement in the appearance of your vulvovaginal area, and functional issues like dryness, laxity, and sensation can be improved. When you feel better about your appearance and your sexual pleasure improves, your libido may increase as well! You deserve to feel self-confident and enjoy all aspects of your life!
I have issues with vaginal dryness, can Votiva help with this?
Yes! Votiva stimulates the tissue responsible for creating lubrication in the vaginal area. A majority of post-menopausal women deal with vaginal dryness and may have tried other interventions like suppositories and oral medications without much success, not to mention the side effects. Votiva can produce lasting results for this very common concern.
When will I see the results of my Votiva treatments? And how long will the results last?
Patients report immediate changes; even after one treatment session, you can visualize and experience the benefits of Votiva. Every Votiva treatment regimen is personally tailored to your specific concerns and goals, but most women benefit from three sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Even after your final session, you will continue to see increased benefits for several months after completing the treatments. Since the aging process continues, your results are best maintained with a single yearly maintenance treatment.
Are the treatments painful? What do I need to do to prepare for the treatments?
Treatment with FormaV is not painful; you can expect to feel a warming sensation that is very comfortable. For external treatment with FractoraV, a topical anesthetic is applied.
Preparation involves avoiding intercourse for 24 hours prior to treatment and hair removal from the treatment area. You must also stop the use of NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin for 3 days prior to treatment. Treatment should be avoided during menstrual bleeding and just prior to menstrual cycle.
How long does the treatment take? Is there any downtime associated with being treated?
The sessions last from 30-40 minutes, but you should allow at least an hour for your visit. There is very little downtime associated with Votiva. We will ask you to abstain from intercourse for 24 hours following treatment and avoid hot tubs, pools, and bathtubs for 3 days following your treatment.
